Model Kits Tools

Here are the tools or equipments we needed to make model kits in the form of airplane, car, ship or marine model kits or others.

Mini Grinder (Drill)

Small SizeGrinder is especially useful for plastic forming (sculpting) because it has a pen grinder, and also to erode parts of the resin (aftermarket resin model kits component) which is not needed, or enlarge the holes, remove the unwanted plastic tab line. Mini grinder can also function as a drill and the tool has a speed regulator.

Ruler

There are different types of plastic or metal ruler to cut or measure. The iron is useful as a cutter. There is also a flexible metal plate (thin) that used for scribing. Also there is such a riveting tool (to create a particular pattern of rivets with spacing such as bookmarks tailor, a toothed wheel).

Clamps and Rubber Bands

There are various forms of clamps from the electrical equipment, paper clips, rubber bands, clamps, etc. clothesline. This tool is extremely useful to use when wrapping body of airplane model kits, especially the main body, wings, etc. Masking tape can also be used to ensure perfect bonding or on the hard part (the curved, for example).

Masks, Rubber Gloves, Safety Eye Glasses

This equipment is useful when making a painting or etching, drilling with a grinding tool to protect us so that we do not breathe paint dust or other chemicals. Safety glasses is useful to protect from small fragments. A rubber glove is used when handling chemicals such as resin, etc. Or when do painting so that the hands remain clean.

Magnifying Glass

It is useful when doing a little detailing. It is better to select magnifying glass which has a lamp holder so it making easier to use.

Miscellaneous Toolbox

The box is useful for storing the model kits components that will be installed so as not scattered and lost. Or to save the remnants of unused and can be used for modification of the airplane model kits.

Workplace

One of the requirements of good workplace for make model kits is lighting adequate, clean and tidy area. Place the equipment in a special drawer or toolbox, paint in place, brush in place of a pencil. Use reading lamp that has lighting bright enough. Not recommended working in a carpeted room for the possibility of falling and missing components is very large. Use a glass mat for cutting, etc. Trim desk before and after work.

Showcase Cabinets

Of course, after finished the model, airplane, car, ship or marine model kits; we want to show our work results. So we need showcase cabinet.
