Sony Will Release Android PC Tablets

Carry the Honeycomb Android OS, Sony plans to release a 9.4-inch diameter tablets. This codenamed S1 Tablet PC, reportedly still conducting in-depth assessment of whether embedded applications will be compatible with Honeycomb.

As written Engadget on 16 Feb 2011, this tablet preparation involves the usual team handles Sony Vaio, Sony netbook variants. There is speculation that even the S1 team involves in Vaio, Sony apparently will not carry the Vaio branding on this tablet.

Not much information can be extracted from the S1 prototype. It is estimated that Sony will use the NVIDIA chipset, quad core processors, Tegra 2. This touch-screen tablet will have a display with a 1.280×800 pixels resolution.

Clearly, this tablet will become devices to enjoy video on demand service for Sony, Qriocity. This service supply music content, video on demand up to the ebook. As devices like Sony’s latest, there will preload applications PSP One.

Integration is possible because Sony has collaborated with Google. From the cooperation, Android gets a certificate for the Playstation suite. Another leak, Sony tablet will be marketed next September with U.S. $ 599 price range.
